Use of GameBus by external researchers / research institutions
GameBus can be used by anyone, and thus also by external (non-TU/e) researchers/research institutions for their own, individual purposes. When they do so, they do so at their own responsibility and at their own risk. Therefore, there are a number of issues to consider:
- The external researcher/research institution is responsible for informing data subjects in advance about the processing of his/her personal data;
- The external researcher/research institution is responsible for having an appropriate legal basis for the processing of personal data (as mentioned in article 6 GDPR), and, if needed, a valid exception to the prohibition for processing special categories of personal data (article 9 GDPR);
- All data gathered as part of a research by external researchers/research institutions may be used by TU/e in the future for the purpose of scientific research regarding social gamification and its potential for promoting a healthy lifestyle, as described in the privacy statement.
